2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Trans Am Tribute
When one of my clients showed me this Trans Am Tribute, I was very unsure of how I felt. It was kind of shocking, especially since I have always been such a huge fan of Trans Ams (and all F-bodies, to be honest). But, looking around this car, it is SO well done and it grew on me. Driving it, helped reaffirm that interest.
The car sold on BringATrailer for $78,500!
Here is the write up from BringATrailer:
This 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS has been modified by Trans Am Depot of Tallahassee, Florida to resemble a 1970s Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include Trans Am–style bodywork, graphics, and lighting as well as removable T-top roof panels, staggered-width 20″ snowflake-style wheels, adjustable coilovers, Eibach sway bars, upgraded injectors and fuel pump, tubular headers, a stainless-steel dual exhaust system, a front-hinged shaker hood, a reupholstered interior, a Hurst short-throw shifter, refaced instrumentation, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2020, and subsequent work has included changing the oil and servicing the air conditioning. This modified Camaro SS is offered with T-top covers, a window sticker, partial records, a clean Carfax report, and a Texas title.
In partnership with Trans Am Depot, Kevin Morgan Designs of Canton, Pennsylvania reworked fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaros to resemble 1970s Pontiac Trans Ams. The modified bodywork included unique front and rear fascias, a front-hinged shaker-style hood, vented fenders, flared rocker panels, a three-piece rear spoiler, and removable T-top roof panels. Additional revisions include aftermarket headlights with red halo rings, fender-vent lighting, and aftermarket taillights. This example was finished new by General Motors in Aqua Blue Metallic and now features a “screaming chicken” hood decal and “Trans Am” lettering on the fenders and the deck lid. The selling dealer notes chipping on the windshield and in the paint, as depicted in the photo gallery below.
Staggered-width 20″ KMforged snowflake wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires measuring 275/40 front and 315/35 rear. Brembo brakes feature cross-drilled and slotted rotors and Trans Am–branded calipers finished in red at all four corners. The suspension has been modified and includes adjustable coilovers and Eibach front and rear sway bars.
The interior features seating trimmed in Katzkin black leather and blue stitching with a matching upholstered dashboard, center console, and door panels. Carbon-fiber-style trim accents the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and door panels. Other equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats, air conditioning, a Hurst short-throw shifter, power windows, power mirrors, power locks, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit. The air conditioning was serviced in summer 2021, which included replacement of the compressor.
A multi-function steering wheel features a Trans Am–branded horn pad and frames retro-style refaced instrumentation that includes a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges measuring coolant temperature and fuel level. Other auxiliary gauges are positioned in the center stack, and the digital odometer indicates 13k miles.
A serialized dash plaque designates the car as the #0003 Kevin Morgan Designs Trans Am tribute. Kevin Morgan identification also appears on the front headrests, center console, doorsills, and floor mats.
The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 has been equipped with a Kevin Morgan Designs Stage II Performance package and features a supercharger, upgraded injectors and fuel pump, an intake kit, tubular headers, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. The selling dealer changed the oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside images are included below. Documentation accompanying the car includes partial service records and a window sticker detailing equipment, colors, and initial delivery to Sid Dillon Chevrolet of Blair, Nebraska.
